Zilal Al Hawah or "Shadow of Love" in Arabic, exemplifies the true essence of the Straight Egyptian Arabian horse. He possesses sheer elegance and beauty inherited from his very exotic father Farid Nile Moon who was unanimously awarded Supreme Champion Stallion at the 2001 Egyptian Event and later exported to the United Arab Emirates. He earned numerous championships in halter and sired many quality offspring that reside all over the world. He sadly passed away in 2004 but through his son Zilal Al Hawah, breeders can continue his legacy.
Zilal's pedigree boasts of many noteworthy Egyptian horses of significance including Ruminaja Ali, Shaikh Al Badi, Anaza El Farid, Bint Deena, and 5 crosses to *Ansata Ibn Halima. A breeder's dream for bloodlines in demand worldwide. His tail female line traces back to the mare El Dahma (Dahman Shahwan strain), a priceless broodmare of Ali Pasha Sharif, she is considered by many authorities to have been the most valuable foundation broodmare in all Egyptian Arabian history. and represents the Dahman Shahwan family strain.
The Farida Branch of El Dahma:
Farida of the El Dahma family was a broodmare par excellence, who produced the beautiful Shahloul daughter, Futna, and the fine bay mare Ragia, dam of the celebrated mare Halima, by Sheikh El Arab. General von Szandtner thought highly of this mare and selected her lovely daughter by Sid Abouhom for the Marbach Stud in Germany. When bred to Nazeer, Halima produced Ibn Halima, imported to America as *Ansata Ibn Halima. This beautiful stallion won U.S. Top Ten awards at halter in 1966, 1967, and 1969, and helped to popularize the Egyptian Arabian in America in the mid sixties with his extreme classic type, beautiful head and naturally brilliant park action.
Phenotypically Zilal represents the distinguishing characteristics of the Dahman strain: balance and harmony. The Dahmans are very classic in type and resemble the Saqlawi in elegance but lean towards the Kuhaylan in strength, for an ideal blending of both. He has a delicately shaped (refined), broad and relatively short, gently dished head with balanced proportions between eyes and poll, and eyes and nostrils. His eyes are large and very expressive, and his ears are small and well shaped. He has a nice neck/ throat which is well shaped and clean and a good poll setting. He has a level croup and beautiful high set tail with ideal carriage. His movement is athletic and beautiful to watch.
Zilal's phenotype and genotype make him an ideal stallion for the most discriminating breeder ...
